Declaration Tool

Coming soon!

The Declaration Tool will help to reduce confusion over data entry and help importers to understand and focus on the rationale for the declaration requirement, rather than simply on filling out the form. The tool will build upon information APHIS has already posted, presenting and expanding upon this information in a hands-on, user friendly way. The tool will incorporate existing tools, such as US Forest Service databases, the Harmonized Tariff System lists, and the database currently being established to inform the FLA risk tool.

Risk Tool

Coming soon!

A main factor preventing the exercise of due care from becoming mainstream is assumed to be the effort involved. Complex supply chains, lack of information, lack of time, lack of expertise, lack of dedicated staff, lack of know-how, and lack of experience all present obstacles, particularly for small businesses. The tool therefore will be designed to help users reduce the effort of exercising due care by providing useful advice and information about the due care process and supply chain facts. The tool will focus exclusively on legality.
