This overview of the U.S. Lacey Act was designed to explain basic Lacey Act concepts to an informed audience of exporters and journalists who wanted more information about demand-side forest legality policies in the United States. The presentation was delivered in October 2010 in Kuala Lumpur to the Dialogue on Requirement for Timber Legality Verification in the Global Market, co-organized by the Malaysian Timber Council and the European Forest Institute.
